In accordance with the goals of the Pratt Initiative, and inspired by Charles Pratt’s original intent for the Pratt Library, we aimed to go a step further to create a vehicle for the public to exchange art and knowledge without restraint of registration, certification, or formal education. By creating a structure that exists immediately juxtaposed to that gate we created a free book exchange that can be housed within the private property of the institution, but only physically accessible from the public street outside of it.
